KHM Travel Ready to Roll Out Expanded New Agent Boot Camp

You spoke, and we listened! Thanks to feedback from last year’s Boot Camp attendees, KHM Travel Group has expanded and improved our New Agent Boot Camp training sessions for 2016.
We are thrilled to be welcoming 42 agents from around the country for our first Boot Camp of the year, March 16th-18th.
According to last year’s survey results, what our new agents need is more business training. That’s why we’ve created a business-centric Boot Camp, and we’ve added an extra day to accommodate the extra training segments!
“In the past, we’ve focused a lot on travel and branding tools,” says National Training Director Marie Smith. “We are building on that, and have added more business tools, more sales training and more ways to develop their brand.”
The goal of Boot Camp is put travel agents on the path towards developing a clear vision for their brand, establishing business goals, and understanding the entire sales process.
“The process of learning to sell is something no one really touches on in this industry,” adds Marie. “We decided to ramp that up, so that our agents will be able to go out and close the sale.”
These few days will also provide them with technical knowledge of our new myTravelCRM, the Agent Portal, and our suppliers’ websites. Having these skills will allow them to organize and easily manage their growing businesses.
On top of training from our staff of industry experts, we also have two supplier partners here to answer questions, and educate agents on their products – Jenny Warren, our Business Development Manager with Funjet Vacations, and Kathy Killen, our Business Development Manager from Royal Caribbean.
With the expanded schedule, attendees will have more time to digest what they’ve learned. We’ve also allowed time to cover “homework” assignments and hold a roundtable discussion with KHM Travel staff.
In the past, we’ve found that agents who go through Boot Camp in their first six months see their business grow more quickly. We hope this new schedule and extended training brings even more success to those that attend!
