Boot Camp is always a special event for our team. We love having the opportunity to meet our agents in person. It gives us the chance to hear about their journeys as travel agents, answer their questions, and set them on the path to success with their businesses. From November 6-9, we once again had the opportunity to do just that at our final Boot Camp of 2018.

Our agents weren’t the only ones to embark on this educational journey. KHM Travel Group team members Julian, Katie, and Dezaree stepped into our agents’ shoes to experience Boot Camp for themselves.

Julian, one of our Web Developers, said that he was excited to learn how agents interacted MyTravelAgentPortal, our agents’ go-to resource for education, supplier information, and marketing tools. Knowing how our agents use this site will help him and the rest of the development team continue to improve its functionality and organization.

He also found the hands-on myTravelCRM sessions incredibly valuable. Having the chance to walk through it with the team allowed Julian to understand how our contact and trip management system can help agents efficiently run their businesses.

Katie, our Human Resources Specialist, said that she found the compliance session eye-opening. For agents who are just beginning in the travel industry, following the policies and procedures in place is an important step and, at times, complex. Katie noted that these session gave agents a sense of understanding and confidence in how they will operate their businesses. She also found a renewed sense of excitement for the travel industry and an appreciation for all the skills that a new agent must master.

Dezaree, our Marketing Associate and a member of our Coaching Program, felt that going through Boot Camp gave her a clearer understanding of the topics that are most important to agents. She also said that this first-hand perspective will help her approach coaching sessions in a more effective way.

Our Boot Campers also had the chance to hear Charles Sylvia from Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) discuss the cruising industry and learn how to connect with cruising clients and close sales.

Kathy Killen presented on what Royal Caribbean has to offer and how to qualify your clients to know if Royal Caribbean is the fit for them. To introduce agents to selling land and resort travel, Apple Leisure Group introduced them to VAXVacationAccess to search to find the perfect vacation package for each of their clients.

The connections and one-on-one interactions agents had with us, and with fellow agents provided a chance to build lasting relationships that will continue to support them as they continue to grow their business.

Chantelle summed up these connections best when she said, “We believe in you. We see it in your faces. It’s the reason you are here. We want you to be successful.”

We can’t wait to hear all of the success stories from our Boot Campers accomplish with their new knowledge and skills!

Our 2019 live event schedule will be released shortly! Check back to www.TravelAgentMeeting.com to learn more and register for next year’s Boot Camps.
