Celebrity Cruises Brings the Celebrity Edge Tour to Cleveland

Earlier this week, KHM Travel Group witnessed the reveal of Celebrity Cruises’ future of cruising.
Members of the KHM Travel Group team, along with local KHM Travel Agents and our Celebrity Business Development Manager Barbara Qua attended Monday’s event, which centered on Celebrity’s newest ship–the Celebrity Edge.
The day started with an informative training on what’s new and what’s next for Celebrity. The Celebrity Edge, which sets sail to the Caribbean in December 2018, is the first of four new ships for the Celebrity fleet. With innovative designs and visionary features, this ship is unlike any other. As the ship’s name suggests, the innovative, outward-facing design will allow guests to feel more connected to the sea than ever before.
After enjoying lunch at Windows on the River, it was time for the main event…the Celebrity Edge truck experience! A Celebrity-branded full-sized semi-trailer was transformed into a portable movie theater. Outside of the truck was a blue velvet rope to make guests feel extra special.
As attendees lined up to get inside, all you could hear were the “wow’s” of everyone who had already entered.
Beautiful 3-D renderings were made into murals on both sides of the truck, while pops of color gave you the essence of the ship’s décor. The black lights on the flooring, along with the metal top of the truck set the scene for something truly special.
The movie or “mini embarkation” gave a glimpse of the creative design process along with what the accommodations will be like on the Edge. A first for the cruising industry is the Edge Stateroom Infinite Veranda. These unique accommodations allow you to increase your room size by moving a glass door to your veranda.
The other exciting feature is the Magic Carpet. Originally designed to have a better tender experience, this open-air space features comfortable seating, a full bar, and areas for live music. Most impressively, this venue can be morphed into a movable space between several decks, offering more options for dining and gathering areas!
The event wrapped up with one final VIP experience of having photos taken in front of a green screen.
The KHM Travel Group team members and agents who attended this event walked away feeling inspired and eager to experience the Edge firsthand.
The second Edge-class ship — Celebrity Beyond— is scheduled for delivery in spring 2020, while two others on order will arrive in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
