KHM Travel Group’s third New Travel Agent Boot Camp live training session of 2015 was held July 24 and 25 at our home office in Brunswick, Ohio. Our training staff led a group of 30 travel agents through two days of new agent basics, workshops and supplier presentations.

Along with travel industry knowledge, Boot Camp also introduced agents to the tools and resources they’ll need to ensure their business grows. This includes workshops on marketing essentials, social media and how to follow up with clients after the booking.

“For the price of the event, I received so much valuable information,” said Elle Kane of New York. “Well worth every dollar!”

On Friday afternoon the agents also received supplier-specific training from Apple Vacation’s Senior Manager of Sales, Tina Tiano. As Apple is one of our preferred suppliers, the opportunity to hear from and meet with Tina will be invaluable when making bookings and getting clients’ questions answered.

The agents also learned about choosing a travel niche, compliance and how to develop a marketing plan. Our staff even took professional headshots of each agent for them to use in their business materials. David Anderson of Gordonsville, Tennessee summed up his experience after these two very full days:

“Thank you for everything you did to help us learn how to tackle this massive job in front of us. Overwhelmed? Yes. Better prepared to tackle the job. Definitely.”

Speaking of full, our July Boot Camp attendees also got to experience one of the best parts of KHM Travel’s live training events: the catered meals! Sandy of Mrs. C’s Catering provided breakfast, lunch and snacks on both days of the training session, and dinner on Friday.

The goal of Boot Camp is to leave agents feeling confident, energized and empowered with the right knowledge to ensure their business’s success. As we’ve seen with past Boot Camp attendees, taking this important step often leads to rapid growth of an agent’s travel business.

One agent might have said it best:

“Boot Camp calmed my crazy!” said Patricia Staff of Scranton, Pennsylvania.

The KHM Travel Group staff enjoyed welcoming and getting to know all the new members of our travel agent family last week. It takes commitment and dedication to grow a business, and we applaud all the Boot Camp attendees for making the investment in themselves and their businesses!

Our next live training session is Destination Success, October 7-10. We also have one more chance to attend Boot Camp in November. Check out our redesigned Travel Agent Meeting site for all of our upcoming training events and FAM trips.
