KHM Travel Gears Up for Vacation.com Conference

Vacation.com’s 17th conference kicks off this Friday, April 24th onboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas. This premier industry event spans eight days and is packed full of learning and networking opportunities.
KHM Travel Group’s President/CEO Rick Zimmerman will be in attendance, as well as our Agent Systems Support expert, Madison Isom. Madison also has the honor of speaking on a panel for Young Professionals in the travel industry.
The seminar, which is on day three of the conference, is open to all Vacation.com agents who are 40 or younger. It’s goal is to provide younger members an opportunity to grow personally and professionally through collaboration and connecting with peers. Jason Olson, President of Cruise Holidays in Redding, CA, is the keynote speaker.
The panel will cover topics like Marketing in the 21st Century, the Evolution of Technology, and Finding & Keeping New Business.
As KHM Travel Agent System Support specialist, Madison interacts with agents on a daily basis through our Agent-Only Facebook groups. He also keeps our agent portal updated with information and promotions from suppliers.
For younger agents, he believes the keys to becoming successful in the travel industry are developing a niche, and using a variety of marketing techniques.
“Too many times I see young professionals sit behind the keyboard, hoping sales will come in,” says Madison. “Finding the right balance between face-to-face visits and online marketing is going to be a huge factor in our success.”
In addition to the panel, he is also excited to meet with KHM Travel Group agents, experience one of the world’s most innovative ships, and take advantage of the full schedule of seminars.
“There are some great classes and sessions scheduled throughout the week, and I’m ready to bring back new ideas and concepts to grow our business,” Madison says.
Events like the Vacation.com Conference aren’t mandatory for travel agents, but we encourage our agents to engage in them when possible.
