The 19th Annual Sandals STAR Awards

It’s award season for everyone from Hollywood celebrities to host travel agencies. Each year we are honored and excited to receive awards from some of our leading travel suppliers to recognize the hard work, time, and effort that KHM Travel Agents have put in.
This year is stacking up to be another thrilling year for KHM Travel Group and one award event helped to kick it off: the 19th Annual Sandals STAR Awards.
This event was held at the Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort on December 7-11, 2019, one of our agents, Ryan Trenn, attended. His dedication to his travel business and love for the Sandals and Beaches brand earned a spot in the prestigious Sandals Chairman’s Royal Club. His membership in this club comes from individually selling over 100 Sandals and Beaches vacations in one calendar year. This membership granted him an invitation to this event where he represented KHM Travel Group.
The event kicked off with a decades themed welcome party as agents gathered to celebrate their achievements. But that was just the beginning of the events planned for them. Over the next few days, agents had the chance to take a catamaran cruise to explore the area, give back through a craft making event with local children, and attend music performances. These performances included a reggae showcase featuring Romain Virgo, Signal Hill, and the internationally known country singer, Chris Lane.
In addition to the fun Ryan and his fellow agents had, they also heard from leaders of the Sandals and Beaches brand including Gebhard Rainer the CEO, Gary C. Sadler, OD. the Sr. Vice President Sales, Adam Stewart the C.D. Deputy Chairman, and Marsha Ann Brown, the Director of Weddings and Romance. The speakers emphasized the importance of agents to Sandals’ success and thanked them for all their hard work.
Travel advisors are the most important distribution channel for Sandals and Beaches® Resorts. They play a tremendous role in our growth and ability to better serve our customers. At STAR Awards, we celebrate their success and continued loyalty.

Agents also attended a Sandals Wedding Specialist seminar. The educational session discussed all that the brand has to offer to customize clients’ wedding. Ryan noted, “They have one of the best Destination Weddings options out there for our clients with the most inclusions, including the free wedding.”
Ryan also shared that the location has his “favorite beach and the clearest turquoise water.”He went on to say, “Beaches Turks and Caicos is amazing with 10 pools, 5 villages, 22 dining options, 15 bars, and a water park. including a surf similar, lazy river, and several water slides. They also partner with Sesame Street and is one of the only resorts that is fully Autism certified in all kid’s camps. If you have never been to Beaches Turks and Caicos, it’s a must do.”

When it comes to finding success with Sandals and Beaches resorts, Ryan’s advice is,
“know your product inside and out so you are confident in yourself because every Sandals and Beaches is completely different. Go on all the FAMs you can. Tour the resorts and make contacts at each resort and utilize your BDMs!”
